Sacrifice in Place is the Law of Love

I have been Graced recently be the truth of the Law of Sacrifice in Place.
all my preferences are subjects to the will of the Royalty of Truth
my stories keep me from hearing the hum in your voice
my morbid reflections hinder my now working healing hands
gently tending to your open desperate wounds

The one and only point of remebrence is to give of yourself entirly, where you are.
the entirety of spiritual life lives in the summation of an inside out glove.
quite grasping with your protected hand.
instead be turned in reverse
let the world wiggle your fingers
let life wear you and feel your warmth
let St. Francis be your mentor
realize that in being now what you had been seeking to achieve
all is complete
nowhere to go
nothing to get to

allow yourself to burn
until we all blaze
and there is no handshake between 'us'
no introduction of you to me
no departures from our beloved
and no great loss of anything

There is only one Room
The location of Happiness is Here.
The action of that Reality is Service and Love
The color of said service is a pallet of Effortless Virtue
and the harbinger of dillusion is spontaneous vice

Be of good Cheer
for nothing in the world can wholey defeat what you Are
nothing can devour you or steal from you
when, kneeling, you allow yourself to be the offered meal
and present all you have freely as a gift.

Holy Days

A mundane day of longing for the Divine Fulfillment… ever had one of these?

What does it mean to be truly transfigured and to live in Communion in our daily lives?

I read today in "The Unfolding Self"… St. John famously called the "Dark Night of the Soul" the time after the Divine reality had been glimpsed yet the individual hasn't been able to sustain the constant Communion that is Reality Itself.

Instead, the being suffers greatly… smoldering in the now more undeniable misery of separate and mortal existence, knowing full well, from direct contact, the divine Truth… but unable to reside in It.

It is a dark lonely night.

I feel my days surfing that edge; sometimes riding the wave of The Endless Movement of Bliss, sometimes sinking below the surface, a pinball in the machine of Samsara.

On those days below the surface, I find myself residing in the cage of conditions (a victim of time, birth and death), hoping for arrivals and fulfilling culminations, and seek desperately at times for the Absolute Yes as if it were in the midst of the shadow puppet show.

But today… somehow, doing telemarketing for a theatre, reading slowly over audition material, washing my car, and being accosted by a self-proclaimed San Quentin native on the street corner of Geary and Mason… somehow in the midst of all that I maintained that snuggle feeling, in the nook of the Divine Reality… just a touch of a moment here and there of feeling the Golden Soup of the Transmutation of It All just swirling around… somehow the gentle palms of Death and Emptiness were cradling my head when I stopped to breath and sit or run and spit. And in the those moments I was Love, Hope, Courage, Presence, and All Virtue as needed… as a matter of fact, not of achievement.

Transtraditional Spiritual Politics

Okay Y'all. Time to unite my voice with this astounding movement of hope and faith. I hereby post this video here, and by so doing, make it an expression of my own voice, whispering as it may be, into the Hearts of the world via the few of you who read what my heart has to say.

Here are a few thoughts to consider before watching the video with fresh eyes and retrospective awe that we have actually arrived at what he envisioned and dared to speak into being.

...

Obama represents a trans-traditional spiritual politics... and by that I mean that he embodies and enacts Faith as "Hope" and Love as the inclusion of us all as "One People". He embodies what many spiritual paths talk about without ANY of the dogma or trappings of those systems. He shows us how "Living the Truth of what we Are as Love" is far more powerful than a million books about it.

What greater spiritual realization is there than pure Big Love, as simply our undeniable, inexorable, inherent Connection to each other and to everything.

Sin as I understand it's root meaning, is "separation". To sin in the christian tradition is to "act as if separate" and there is actually, a pain in that... literally a feeling of being split or torn asunder for both parties involved at that moment. My resurrection of the word Sin is a rebirth. It is not the old definition of sin. Like a phoenix rising from the ash, reborn in a new form, it is a bigger use of that word than those who try to shove love into universal boxed categories of behavior. I don't mean that we should get heady, moralize, or pull out a christian book of 'rules'... it means that we have to sensitize ourselves to the FEELING of Loving that generated those rules to begin with... before they got reified by over thinking and scared hearts that needed to control to feel safe. We need to learn to FEEL and know when our hearts contract, disconnect, and omit ANYONE. (I would add, anything... yes your shoes have a kind of soul to them, and you can feel when you are honoring them with your attention and heart... so do your parks and your buses and your cars and your food...but I digress)

Obama calls us all to see that we are not red states and blue states but United states, but his message goes far beyond the limitations of nationalism, and I believe that the overflowing exuberance around the globe to his election is a nod to that truth. And I believe that in the coming years we will hear more and more language and see more and more action that will bring us to believe that we are not 1st world and 3rd world countries, we are not just Africans and Europeans and Chinese, we are Humans, we are One World, literally In Love ('In'side the HUMONGOUSNESS and Infinity of Unbounded Love)since Before before. It is our 'a priori' status, this Love we are. We are the change we've been waiting for he says, I say, we literally ARE the LOVE we've been waiting for. But don't take my word for it...because you can't anyway... nice writing does nothing but point you to a direct experience for yourself... so go find a good meditation cushion or park bench and sit for a few years and ask yourself, "Who am I?" or "What am I?" or any other really good spiritual questions... and then keep sitting asking yourself that question until you See Yourself staring back at you all the time. Hear yourself honk your horn two blocks away. and feel yourself pushing up through the soil in the dirt next to the park bench you're sitting on and brush across your own face as the wind dancing across the lake. Keep asking until it's not just one moment, but until you hear your song, the Love Song of Being, reverberating from sea to shining sea.

A Time of Great Change, A Time of Love

Everyone...

I beg each of you to find and speak the eruptions of your heart the way this beautiful man models. Our time is Now. We are not only the "change" we are looking for, we ARE the LOVE we've been looking for. This is not an exterior circumstance, this is not an achievement, it is what we ARE. And when we Realize that, then we Enact it... and it will FEEL something like this video feels.

If this doesn't feel like Love to you... FEEL again. There are two responses, essentially... either fear and thus control and anger/defensiveness... or the deep movement of a grateful heart.

Always,
James

From the Desk of Antonin Artaud

Gifted actors find by instinct how to tap and radiate certain powers; but they would be astonished if it were revealed that these powers, which have their material trajectory by and in the organs, actually exist, for they never realized that these sources of energy actually exist in their own bodies, in their organs.

Psychology, which works relentlessly to reduce the unknown to the known, to the quotidian and the ordinary, is the cause of the theater’s abasement and its fearful loss of energy, which has finally reached its lowest point.

The belief in a fluid materiality of the soul is indispensable to the actor’s craft. To know that a passion is material that it is subject to the plastic fluctuations of the material, makes accessible an empire of passions that extend our sovereignty.

Furthermore, when we speak the word “life”, it must be understood we are not referring to life as we know it from the surface of fact, but to that fragile, fluctuating center which forms never reach. And if there is one hellish, truly accursed thing in our time, it is our artistic dallying with forms, when instead we should become as victims burning at the stake, signaling each other through the flames.

And what is infinity? We do not know exactly. Iris a word we use to indicate WIDENING of our consciousness towards an inordinate, inexhaustible feasibility.

To make metaphysics out of a spoken language is to make the language express what it does not ordinarily express. It is to make use of it in a new, exceptional and unaccustomed fashion; to reveal its possibilities for producing physical shock, to deal with intonations in an absolutely concrete manner, restoring their power to shatter as well as to really manifest something and finally, to consider language as Incantation.

The true purpose of the theater is to create Myths, to express life in its immense universal aspect, and from that 4fe to extract images in which we find pleasure in discovering ourselves.

If our life lacks a constant magic, it is because we choose to observe our acts and lose ourselves in consideration of their imagined form instead of being impelled by their force. No matter how loudly we clamor for magic in our lives, we are really afraid of pursuing an existence entirely under its influence and sign.

The Mysticism of Stoppard

Two characters suddenly incarnate and attempt to understand their relationship to the unavoidable fate of their birth and death. "Why were we called" leads inevitably to the famous line from Hamlet "Rosencranz and Guildenstern are Dead".

My favorite line goes as follows:

"Death is not anything…death is not…it’s the absence of presence, nothing more… the endless time of never coming back… a gap you can’t see, and when the wind blows through it, it makes no sounds. You can’t act death. The fact of it is nothing to do with seeing it happen… its not gasps and blood and falling about… its just a man failing to reappear, that’s all, now you see him, now you – "
